Just Consider It

We've all heard of global warming, now whether not this is in fact all true is another topic entirely. But as far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with at least considering the it. This is our Earth, we might as well understand what we're doing to it while we're living here

Are You Environmentally Conscious?

Ok so on this past Thursday it was Earth Day. How fun! Right? It’s a day for environmental things to really take the front and center stage, for everyone to pretend they’re all environmentally conscious and act like they care. That’s the way it works. Too bad it’s all a hoax. People are so pathetic; we look for any excuse to pretend we care about something just for a little bit. You know just long enough for people to get the impression that we just might care, but short enough that heaven forbid we actually do something that would involve changing the way we live our lives. My god is it that hard to like recycle or something people. Honestly I think now, but hey that’s just my personal opinion.
Ok enough of my ranting, that’s not what this blog is about. It’s about the Earth, which I really do care about unlike some people. So let me inform you a little about Earth Day.
Now Earth day is April 22 every year and it has been this way for many years. How many exactly? Well to be exact Earth Day began on April 22, 1970 and was founded by Gaylord Nelson. The original intent for the is National Holiday now known as Earth Day was a teach-in. During this time Nelson had set up numerous teach-ins involving the Vietnam War and he now wanted to show that politician did also have an environmental conscious agenda too. He proposed that the teach-in happen on the campus of all US Universities (you know what I just realized? I don’t exactly know what a teach-in is. I imagine it to be something like a seminar or something, a bunch of people who may or may not care, gathering together to listen to some old hippie talk about the earth and how trees have feelings too).
So that’s how Earth Day got its start. I won’t lie, I’m surprised it’s lasted this long, but of course it will be around a while yet. We have just really began to enter a truly let’s pretend we’re all environmentally conscious stage.
